What Causes Numbness In The Extremities And Fluctuating Blood Sugar Levels?

I have discomfort in my legs below the knee and my feet both sides. I also have similar feeling in my arms from my elbows to my hands. It feels like circulation being cut off. I do have fluctuating blood sugar levels but not diagnosed with diabetes. Also I feel a numb feeling in extremities if I take in a deep breath.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Numbness is often caused by peripheral nerve damage. There are many causes of peripheral nerve damage such as diabetes, chronic renal failure, leprosy, vertebral compression, vasculitis, shingles and hypothyroidism etc. Cause needs to be identified. There is a role of methylcobalamine in treatment of peripheral nerve damage caused by metabolic disorders.
Advice
1.     Methylcobalamin 500 mcg once daily per oral for 3 months
2.     Investigations – blood sugar (F & PP), serum creatinine
3.     Regularly monitor your blood sugar and blood pressure
4.     Check for symptoms of diabetes such as fatigue, weight loss, excessive thirst, frequent urination, excessive appetite, poor vision, and leg swelling etc
Thanks
