Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was wondering if I should go to the ER. I am experiencing numbness in my face and under my lower jaw. Also I had some pain and discomfort in my chest that has now subdued. I also have pain between my shoulders in my back that has lessened. This came on suddenly about an hour ago. The numbness in my face is still there and some pain and discomfort between my shoulders in my back.
Hello Dear. I do not know your age. If you are a young person below 30 years, it may be just non specific pain either muscle spasm or gastritis. You can follow some home remedies like drinking hot water, hot water fomentation at the site of pain and adequate rest, avoiding spicy food and if necessary gelusil syrup.
But if you are above 30, overweight with family history of cardiac disease then it can be anginal pain also. If the pain is persisting for hours together you can go to ER, get an ECG done and consult the cardiologist. If the cardiologist feels there is a need for further evaluation he/she may ask you to undergo tests like TMT, ECHO etc.
Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you. All the best With warm regards Dr Sanjay Kini
