Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Numbness In The Hand After A Trigger Finger Surgery?
Hi I had my thumb and 2 of my fingers operated on 2 months ago for trigger finger.Still have numbness of my whole hand.had carpal tunnel release almost 35yrs. ago on same hand.I m diabetic insulin dependent and I have neuropathy in my feet and both thumbs. So why is my hand still numb.
It depends what has happened in the course of the treatment and surgeries you have undergone. If you had nerve damage during carpal tunnel release, then you might face this complication.
Nerve Injury can be graded. If it is mild grade, then it is a reversible injury. If it is axonal injury, then the nerve degenerates and will never grow.
You might try some nerve growth factors and Vitamin B12 supplementation like Neurobion forte drug, but if it is reversible injury it becomes difficult to grow. Take above-mentioned drugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
