Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have two questions: 1. I m waking up at night and my hands seem to be falling asleep . They feel like I ve been laying on them but I haven t. It s not always both of them. But it is happening every night and only when I sleep. Also, when I close my mouth I can t touch my back teeth. Its like my jaw is tight or swollen. Doesn t look any different.
This can be due to pressure from your body in which your arms or hands are subjected leading to temporary loss of nerve sensations. You need to change your sleeping habits.
So for the problem of teeth is concerned it is all due to irregularly placed teeth in your mouth which you are not able to notice in a day.In dentistry it is called malocclusion. The two problems are separate. You need to change your sleeping habits and in the mean time you can see a dentist for correction of malocclusion.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Soheel Hussain Zargar, Dentist
