What Causes Numbness In The Hands While Suffering From Osteoarthritis?

Hello, I have osteoarthritis but recently I ve been waking up with no feeling in my hands at all. It takes at least 5 minutes to regain any feeling. Once the tingling starts I get feeling back. However, there is a feeling of slight numbness periodically through out the day.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* The presentation of narrated symptoms suggest that there is possible nerve compression around the wrist joint.

* In our clinic, I recommend a physical evaluation of the patient for particular neurologic signs and later decide to prescribe an MRI or other tests to locate the cause.

Hope I have answered your query.
