What Causes Numbness In The Knee When Diagnosed With Sciatica?
Last summer I had a severe sciatica inflammation. A few days later I had a fall down basement stairs and 8 weeks later told I had 2 fractures in my hip and 1 day later told no fracture! Anyway, I have numbness in my outer knee for quite a while now, is it caused from a nerve impingement or possibly from a herniated disc?
Pain in the distribution of sciatic nerve is caused by sciaitve nerve damageThere are many causes of peripheral nerve damage such as herniated disk, diabetes, chronic renal failure, leprosy, vertebral compression, vasculitis, shingles and hypothyroidism etc. Advice 1. Take rest 2. Methylcobalamin 500 mcg once daily per oral for 3 months 3. Gabapentin 300 mg (Capsule Neuronti 300 mg) every 8 hours per oral for one month 4. Investigation – MRI of spine 5. Consult a physiotherapist and orthopedic surgeon for further follow up Thanks
