Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Numbness In The Left Leg After An Ankle Injury?
I broke my right ankle a month and a half ago. However my left leg at the top in the front has been having numb spells over the past two weeks which has become steady today. It feels as though i have been given a shot of Novocaine in my upper thigh and it feels tight. Is it just straining from taking up the slack of my broken ankle or is this something i should be more concerned about?
Based on the history you have shared, it is due to the strain on other feet because of the broken ankle on the other needs other foot to bear the weight alone and also any abnormal gait movement can trigger such pains.
But if buttock shot was on the same side where the strain is, nerve trauma during the shot also needs to be evaluated. Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like Acetaminophen can be used temporarily.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin,
