This seemed to occur after readin my iPad in bed with my head proper end up for ever alone hours. The doct gave me valtrex and prednisone and it seems to subside somewhat over the week, but never went away. I noticed today it's flaring a bit. I was not sure if I should be concerned?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of numbness in the left side of the face is because of facial nerve paralysis due to stress or viral infection in which one side of face get paralyzed and muscle of other side pull them towards their side.
I would suggest you to start exercise of facial muscles and start physical therapy of muscles. The symptoms go away without any treatment in few days. Consult oral surgeon or neurosurgeon for proper evaluation of the condition and doctor may prescribe artificial tears (methyl cellulose) , prednisone and anti viral medicine like acyclovir.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
