What Causes Numbness In The Lips And Swelling In The Throat?
Hopefully, I am scheduled for a root canal at 8am tomorrow. Today I realized that the roof of my mouth is swollen, my throat gland it swollen and the side of my lip is slightly numb. I also feel that my face is warm but I did not have a fever. Should I go to an ER or urgent care center now or can I wait until the morning. I have taken three doses of Amoxicillion 875mg since yesterday but I have gotten worse. Suggestion?
Your symptoms can be due to side effect or allergic reaction to Amoxicillin, however if the tooth that is advised already for root canal treatment is having an abscess then it can be probably due to infection too.. So my suggestion is that if your symptoms gets exaggerated then you should immediately stop taking Amoxicillin and consult an Emergency room. For now you can take a dose of anti allergic like Levocetrizine so that if it is an allergy then the symptoms will get suppressed.. You should also do cool compresses over the cheek if there is swelling.. Get the Root Canal treatment started as soon as possible..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
