What Causes Numbness In The Lower Leg And Hands?

I have written about my son s symptoms before but I wanted to get additional information. He has numbness in his right foot, lower right leg, and mildly in both hands. He had an MRI done on his back and results were normal. The doctor now wants to do a nerve study. He hasn t had any blood work done which seems unusual. What can a nerve study diagnose?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Numbness may be due to nerve compression or B12 deficiency.

I would suggest you to do MRI back and blood B12 level, blood sugar level.

Treatment mainly depends upon the underlying conditions.

You can take tab.pregabalin and multivitanin tablets after consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
