What Causes Numbness In The Lower Legs?

last night I started getting some numbness in lower legs (behind left knee and down leg) sort of like left leg asleep. I thought I had been drinking too many soft drinks and not enough water or Gatorade. I don t any medical issues for my age but this has worried me. I am overweight and do not eat right.
