Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I would like some advice please. I ve got numbness from below my knew joint to my toes on my left leg. It goes down the outside of the calf and outside of the foot across all my toes. The rest of my foot and inside of my calf is fine. A couple of times the same leg has gone freezing cold. It started a couple weeks ago. I think I may have overstretched my leg, and around half an hour later the entire leg was in extreme pain mostly radiating from the hip. I couldn t get away from the pain and it lasted about 30mim then eased off slowly over a couple of hours. The outside of my hip/pelvis is tender when I lie on it getting into bed. I also have occassional numb left butt cheek and tenderness on my tail bone. I m not sure if these are all related or not. I also get sensations on my calf and my ankle feels twisted. Sometimes it s worse than other times. I worry it s dvt or diabetes but it maybe nerve Also I get tingles and itch in my back and sometimes feel like I have a tight chest and can t take in much air and i get hot and feel like im aboit to pass out but usually when I m thinking about what might be wrong with me when I m lying in bed so I assume it may be panic attack (Its usually after smoking cannabis - I have smoked for 13 years daily) I get random sharp pains in my chest either side but only on the odd breath then I can t seem to recreate it. I also cough to clear my throat all the time. Would this be chronic Broncitis? Your advice is appreciated. Thanks
As per my clinical experience, the long history of cannabis smoking with legs numbness indicate vascular compromise in the form of possible atherosclerosis of certain blood vessels.
I strongly recommend to undertake a Doppler ultrasound of the lower limb, to study it precisely and manage accordingly.
