What Causes Numbness In The Mouth?

So I microwaved some food on a melamine plate not fully aware it was unsafe and ate the food off it, although the food was also on a small cardboard tray. I am worried because I also inhaled some of what I thought was steam but realize may have been some type of gas. I am worried because my mouth feels kind of numb but I don t if I should be concerned or if it is placebo effect. Should I be concerned? Do I need to do anything?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Numbness after eating food that can be contaminated with the fumes.
Well, the numb feeling if not associated with any other symptoms can be due to any food or can even be a mild allergic reaction..

It can also be just anxiety as I do not see any other symptoms .

So for now you should watch for sometime..
If the numbness does not get better then you need to consult an Emergency room..

For now avoid stress, eat normally and take sufficient rest..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
