What Causes Numbness In The Peripherals While On Gabapentin And Metoprolol?
I take quite a few medication and have had these issues for a few years now and they have gotten worse lately. They seem to have been that my blood pressure was bottoming out a short time after taking all my morning meds so I started taking my BP and it is not low. All my extremities seem to go numb and tingle. When I stand I am extremely weak am like I all the blood has drained from head. The meds regiment that I take keeps my BP very well controlled. What is causing my blood to non-circulate? MED. Pioglitazone clonidine gabapentin furosemide metoprolol amlodopine
Numbness, tingling and other altered sensations may not be due to a decrease or change in blood pressure.
May be due to poor circulation in the affected areas or related to nerve disease. From the list of medications mentioned, you seem to be a diabetic.
Diabetes is one of the most common causes of nerve disease, it is one of the complications , called diabetic neuropathy.
Poor circulation in the area- peripheral vascular disease, can also cause the symptoms described but your doctor can check the pulses to see if this is the cause.
If the circulation is fine then nerve function can be assessed by examination.
I hope this helps
