General Surgeon 's  Response
The injuries you sustained to your leg due to the accident must have caused soft tissue swelling or even inflammation. This can cause nerve compression and numbness to the leg. Also the trauma can directly cause nerve damage. You must consult an Orthopedic surgeon, who can give you antibiotics if there is inflammation. You will have to give rest to your leg and keep it elevated on a chair while being seated, to reduce the swelling, till complete resolution of swelling and inflammation. In about 3 weeks or so normal sensation shall return to your leg.
