What Causes Numbness In The Ring And Little Fingers?

I have chronic numbness in my right ring finger and little finger on the ends only. I had testing for carpal tunnel and was there was none. It was suggested to go back to the doctor who referred me for the testing and tell him to look at my neck. What would be possible treatment options if I do this? what would likely be the next step?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Numbness in little 7 ring finger results from pressure on supplying nerve ( ulnar). This can be at cervical spine, cervical rib in neck, elbow joint, at local level ( carpet tunnel syndrome )
Pin pointing exact site of pressure would facilitate line of treatment which could be medicines( anti inflammatory pills, steroids, vitamin B12) /physiotherapy/ surgery as per need.
Thanks.
