Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a place on my back just under my shoulder blade you cant see anything on my back but I can feel something burning/itching and when I scratch it its like the top of my skin is numb but under is where the itching/burning is and its like nothing can touch the spot!! and it is scaring me because I know my body and this isn t normal for me. I worry about cancer it seems like its worse these days. why would my skin be numb on this spot? but still feel this under the skin???
As per my surgical experience, the numbness in the shoulder blade may be due to underlying nerve compression of some sort or muscle, ligament pull. There is no threat of cancer in this regard, but a clinical examination is mandatory for details of possible cause and further management in this regard.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
