What Causes Numbness In The Thumb?

I crushed my thumb in car door 10 days ago. There is no pain as top half of the thumb is numb. Thumb is swollen at least twice the normal size and extremely dark blue from blood pooling. Is it ok to wait for blood to be absorbed without seaking medical attention

I have gone through your concern in depth .

@ This is hematoma formation with compression of underlying nerve
structures giving numbness in the thumb .

@ Recommended suggestions

$ Must seek medical advise on priority basis to prevent secondary
infection of hematoma and recover early from numbness .
$ Till then apply ice 3 - 4 times a day , tab. ibuprofen 2 times a day
after meals .
