What Causes Numbness In The Top Of Head After An Injury?
Fell on the steps today and hit my left eye and cheek, have swollen area from the fall, now the left side of the top of my head is numb. I have no other symptoms except some pain from the fall. Should I be concerned about the numbness or is this caused from the fall?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
With no other loss of movements, sensations and understanding, the numbness you ask cause for seems to be due to compression of local nerves by swelling of tissues and would go with inflammation healing. Still, as there is history of head injury, it's needed to confirm the thing by MRI / CT scan to exclude any brain involvement.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
