General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Analysing your symptoms, it appears that you could be having infection of the pharynx, which is also involving middle ear. You are feeling numbness in the region because of mucosal and soft tissue edema, which might be temporarily compressing nerves in that region.
Kindly do the following to overcome it.
1. Salt water gargling with warm water twice daily.
2. Take a course of oral antibiotics like Azithromycin.
3. Take antiallergenic-decongestant syrup containing Ambroxol/Bromhexine, Chlorpheniramine maleate and Phenylephrine.
4. Do mouth wash regularly with Chlorhexidine solution.
5. Avoid consuming cold items like ice cream and cool drinks.
Gradually, your symptoms should get better and subside.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
