Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m not sure of I sprained or just rolled my ankle. It was approximately 5.5 hours ago. I can walk on it seems a little tender when I put pressure on it but nor horrible but when laying in bed a can t lay on that side cuz the pressure on it hurts but ever since I ve done it my toes and slightly above my ankle into my leg feels numb. Why does it feel numb?
As mentioned the history, the detailed assessment is advised.
The symptoms of numbness in the leg and toes can be related to the nerve pathology. Usually, when the nerve is pinched in the spinal column the symptoms arises one of them is numbness. The nerve impingement needs a thorough neuromuscular assessment and later an MRI.
Why the nerve impingement comes in my mind is because you mentioned the symptoms reduce when you lie down.
I will advice further to undergo physical therapy, where the therapist will assess you and later assist you with exercises focused towards the recovery.
