What Causes Numbness In Tongue After Being Stung By A Scorpion?

I was stung by a scorpion about an hour ago. My tongue feels slightly numb. I m not too worried about it at this point but was wondering if I should be concerned about have a worse reaction if I ever am stung again. I have been stung by scorpions a couple of times in the past with no problems besides the normal stinging pain at site for a couple hours.

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry to hear about the stinging fiasco. Yes you can get sensitized to venom and one day have a major reaction. The numbness you are feeling is in relation to the scorpion sting, it should resolve on its own, HOWEVER, if you start feeling short of breath or having wheezing or difficulty breathing, this means that you are having a systemic reaction and you need prompt medical attention. I hope that this helps. Thanks and good luck.
