What Causes Numbness Near The Finger Tips ?
Hi doctor,my nail got caught in between a dumbell and a squat rack and the nail black due to the internal bleeding.. The pain died down but my finger tips have been sort of numb for about a month now.. Also, the cuticle on the nail has been damaged for my nail and finger have been separated from one another.. Should I be worried? Or should I wait for this to self heal? My finger didn t turn black it s only slightly swollen I assume that blood circulation has not been cut off

Hello,
Discoloration of the finger tip is expected due to internal bleed as you thought.Chances are that even local nerves might have got compressed which resulted in numbness.As of now there is nothing to do for the nail.It will gradually heal and will appear as normal as before the injury.Chances are very less for the circulation to cut off.If the swelling is not residing,its better to consult your physician.I wish you speedy recovery
