Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi im 54 and was having a numbing feeliing in my left arm, have had a stress test in the past 2nd to family hx of heart #, I am very fit and eat healthy . I had a ekg this week and on the report it stated left atrial abnormally ,.ther wise i feel good
As you have atrial wall abnormalities, this needs a cardiologist intervention. He may examine the heart beats for any abnormal functions. Once he detects one it will be possible for him to take this further.
I will advise to take up the Echocardiogram, as this may help us understand more about the atrium abnormalities.
Also, there might be a change in the medication too which is required for you. The feeling in the left upper limb is numbness or its tingling?
If numbness only then there might be a lack of blood flow to the left upper limb from the heart. This might need some BP measurement for now.
If its tingling sensation then it might be due to nerve entrapment. Please visit the cardiologist so you can get it assessed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
