What Causes Numbness Of The Middle And Index Fingers On The Left Hand?
The fingers on my left hand, especially the middle and index fingers, feel like they are asleep. They vary from being very stiff and numb when trying to sleep to a milder annoyance in the day time. At the moment, typing with the tip of the middle finger being numb is very annoying.

Numbness and tingling along with pain on outer side of hand suggest carpel tunnel syndrome that is nerve entrapment at the wrist.
It needs proper assessment and evaluation for confirmation of the diagnosis. The management depends on severity. correct posturing plus splinting may be enough howe'ver if it too much we may need steroid injection in it.
Generally, its job of your joint doctor does discuss with him for proper management.
