What Causes Numbness On Lips?

My upper and lower lip are numb on a small area after the endoscopy, I woke up with pain and then when I went home it started to get numb. I saw a small cut on both lips(inside), just called doctor's office, they said it may be "unrelated" and to call my pcp!? I am trying to call back and talk to the doctor. I'm upset because it really bothers me. Is it gonna go away and when? I feel like spilling everything when I drink something

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain numbness of lips over a small area after endoscopy procedure seems to be due to compression of nerve ending in that area due to pressure application in that area with the endoscopy tube or other instruments that have been placed leading to numbing the area..

It seems to be transient and will resolve gradually on its own..
As of now you can start taking Vitamin B complex supplements..
You should do warm compresses over the numb area..
Take a nutritious diet and also avoid stress..

In case of no improvement in next 15 days or if the symptoms worsen consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated and investigations like MRI scan and blood tests can be advised..
