Hello, two Sundays ago, I fell on a log full force with my shin. I went to the hospital, and they said it wasn t too bad. I m on ultram for the pain. The swelling has gone down, but my shin is still numb, about 65 percent of the shin is still numb, and I can indent the muscle or skin that s there. I poke down, and it leave an indent. What is this?

Hi
Thanks for posting your query
Well following injury there occurs trauma to skin, muscles, bones and nerves.
It is the injury to the nerve that is causing you numbness but there is no need to be worried as there occurs regeneration of the damaged nerves, it takes two to three weeks for the new generation to occur.
The indent which you can make over the skin is due to mild swelling. even this also will come down within a week so no need to worry .
Hope this information is useful to you. Any clarification feel free to ask.
Regards
