What Causes Numbness On The Left Side Of The Face And Lips?

Lately the left side of my face and lip get numb. I switched from Lipitor to Crestor and thought it was the statin....which I stopped for two weeks and the numbness and tingling on the left side of my face went away. Then I drank two glasses of red wine and had the same feeling again.... I know this is related to alcohol. I only drink 1-2 glasses of red wine occasionally and am not a huge drinker. Thoughts ?

Hi,

Yes, it can be a side effect of medicine or alcohol intake. Also, drug interactions with alcohol can also be a cause. You should consult your doctor and get checked.

A clinical examination can be done to eliminate certain nerve related problem. Also if needed the medications can be changed.

You can also avoid taking alcohol and do alternate warm and cool compresses over the face. Take Mul after discussing with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
