Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My lower lip has been going numb for about 2wks. doesn t last long but happens more often 5 or 6 times a day now. Feels like novocaine is wearing off sometimes it the numbness is the lower part os\f my noise I am starting to get worried. What could this be the result of?
Numbness of lower lip and around nose is not a normal sign and can be due to number of causes like pinched nerves, viral infection, Vitamin B 12 deficiency while can also be related to transient ischemic attack.. So my suggestion is to consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation done.. A blood test and and an MRI scan can be advised to rule out the exact cause of the symptoms and treatment can be done accordingly.. For now start taking Vitamin B complex supplements daily and do alternate warm and cool compresses over the numb areas.
Hope this helps..
Regards.
