What Causes Numbness On The Thighs After Recovering From Severe Cellulitis?
dx with severe cellulitis with sores that have been taking months to heal. but thereafter been having numbness with tingly feeling in my right front thigh. sometimes i have to smack it but then it becomes painful. I have been on 3 different types of antibiotics, and currently still taking one. during this time my leg and foot have been swollen and I dont have diabetes or hypertension. but I had a blood clot about a year ago. Why cant anyone give me a straight answer as to what is going on with my body. I have seen a cardiovascular surgeon in the past but that was just for a stripping.
Since you have had a history of cellulitis and now you are experiencing a numb and tingling sensation in your legs it's possible that you have the circulatory problem in your leg veins.
I would advise you to get a colour Doppler of your leg veins done and consult a vascular surgeon. You may be needed to be put on antiplatelets to improve your circulation.
Also get your blood sugar levels done as high blood sugar can cause peripheral neuropathy which may also lead to leg ulcers.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nazma.amman, General & Family Physician
