Hi Dear,
Welcome to HCM.
Understanding your concern.
Thanks for your query . As per your query you have
numbness on the tip of tongue and lips. The symptoms you describe in your query are pointing towards nerve impairment due to
facial trauma. In case of facial
injury the common symptoms are numbness of respective parts . In your case the probable cause of numbness is injury to
trigeminal nerve ,which supply to tongue and lip as well. Nerve impairment can happen due to various reasons like direct injury to nerve , injury due to fractured bone or compression dur to swelling . Sometimes it also occur due to condition like bell's palsy or
trigeminal neuralgia. The recovery of nerve depends upon the severity of damage .I would suggest you to consult oral surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe medicines to reduce inflammation ,
steroids ,and anti convulsant drugs . Doctor may also perform surgery to treat fracture and release compression. For now you should start
physical therapy , do light facial exercises under expert and avoid eating (because you can bite your lip or tongue ).
Hope your concern has been resolved.
