Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday I woke from a brief nap and ate a snack. After I ate I started feeling my tongue and lips getting tingly and numb. shortly after I felt a migraine coming on. I have gotten those before and usually use Frankincense oil on my temples and behind my ears and they go away. So that is what I used. my ear was hurting so I got a Qtip and cleaned it and the auras of the migraine went away, I was telling my friend and she said maybe I had a mini stroke. I have not ever had heart problems. but I am 60. are those symptoms of a stroke?
Tingling sensation of the tongue and lips with headache immediately after eating a snack can be due to Allergic reaction to any of the constituents of the snack..
If you do not have any medical problems then the chances of stroke are less however similar symptoms can be seen in case of transient ischaemic attack but it is not necessary..
So for now you should simply relax and do not stress to much.. In case if you get the similar symptoms again consult an Emergency room and get a clinical examination done..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
