What Causes Numbness On The Upper Arm After Being Put On An IV?

Hi, Doctor I m a 63 yr old male who had a mild heart attack on Feb 20......during the angio, I had an ischemic stroke as a piece of plaque broke off and entered my brain. I was on an IV drip with the blood thinners heparin and integralin.....I complained immediately about numbness beginning in my upper right arm that eventually would spread to my entire right side right down the middle (a sensory stroke). Was there any way, given those blood thinners, that I could have been given tPA or some other treatment that could have stemmed my stroke. I m desperate, but have no money until my check arrives over 2 weeks from now...sorry have NO money right now, Doctor

Hello,

In my opinion, you should definitely get done MRI brain to rule any impending stroke. So better to consult a neurologist and get done the clinical examination and MRI brain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
