What Causes Numbness On The Upper Arm?

My upper right arm (just lower side of the upper arm?) went numb about 4 weeks ago. Area went smaller but it got replaced by skin pain. Went to a skin doctor but she did not know what but gave me some pain meds. Taking it for 6 days but not much improvement. Sometimes pain shoots up close to my armpit. most of the time, nothing bothers me if I do not touch. I have full use of hands and arms, but small area still do not have much of a feeling and pain to touch. What is this?

hi there are two most commen reason for your condition
1) it may be due to nutrition deficiency specially vit.B12 .so blood test require for this.

2)there may be due to nerve irritation in its course anywhere starting form spinal cord. x ray specially showing cervical disc may help to find the cause.
