What Causes Numbness, Pain And Twitching Sensation In The Feet?

I have numbness, pain and twitching in my feet. The twitching does not occur while standing and walking but it is keeping me awake at night. I feel excessive tingling all down my legs to my feet. I am diagnosed with fatty liver disease and have had surgery to repair a vertebra in my neck 2 years ago and recently fallen and fractured another vertebra. I have had excessive amounts of wine in the past but am currently living alcohol free.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are more likely consistent with neuropathic causes like peripheral neuropathy.

Consult a neurologist and get evaluated.

Detailed evaluation including nerve conduction study is required for further assessment.

We have to rule out possibilities like sciatica.

As of now you can take vitaminB12 supplements for symptomatic relief.

Make sure that your blood sugar level is within the normal limits as uncontrolled diabetes can cause similar symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
