What Causes Numbness Under The Toes And Ball Of Foot?

I have 3 numb toes, ball of foot under those toes is numb, the numbness appears to be coming up the leg.i just got sciatica, pain is up, down, and in buttocks. Do I. See a neuropathist or a podiatrist first or does it matter. I have previously seen a podiatrist, he gave me two cortisone injections as once before when I went to get up, I almost fell, couldn t feel my whole leg. He made the pain go away, this happened. To my mother once and she was diagnosed witha Tia....The next time it happened she had a stroke and is now paralized on the whole right side of her body. Thoughts.oh my medical doctor said pick one.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Numbness under the toes and ball of the foot could be due to peripheral neuropathy secondary to diabetes. The nerve compression leads to pain or numbness or tingling sensation.

A podiatrist deals with foot-specific conditions, while a neurologist sees nerve-related issues. I would suggest you to visit a neurologist as you also have sciatica with numbness of toes and foot ball.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks.
