What Causes Occasional Blurred Vision And Ringing In Head?

At times I distinctly hear my pulse in my head and other times a constant ringing in my head (not ears) which at times seems louder than others. I also have occasional blurred vision and feel at times my balance is off. Note: I am on medication for hypertension, but monitor my BP and is 137/88 last check.

Emergency Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Ringing in the head, blurring of eyes may be a sign of a condition called vestibular migraine, which is a type of migraine. These may also be accompanied by headaches, dizziness and balance problems. It could also be basilar migraine or other serious disorders. I would suggest a complete workup and a neurologist opinion to address the issue.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Chaanacya Chelapathy, Emergency Medicine Specialist
