Hello, i am a 33 year old african american female. Last year around this time i was prescribed 1 mg ativan for panic disorder. I would have panic attacks but then they faded away. As of October they have come back and i have them more frequently. Ive been having chest tightness on and off for the last month and when it occurs i take an ativan and they pain tapers off. I scheduled an appt to see a cardiologist on the 17th of Feb. Im very scared that I am heart attack proned as i have been under severe stress for about a year now. Blood pressure and cholesterol were normal my last visit to my PCP this summer. I have been taking fish oil supplements, mag-cal-zinc supplements and garlic occasionally to help. What does this sound like to you Dr.
Hi, from history it seems that you might be having cardiac neurosis giving rise this problem. As you get relief from Ativan, this might be due to anxiety. Go for EKG and rule out any cardiac ailment. Avoid stress and try to come out from anxiety. Ok and take care.
