Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I'm hoping you can help, I'm 32 and a bit overweight. About 6 months ago I was diagnosed with acid reflux. I was put on omeprazole. One of my symtpoms is gagging and regurgitation. At first it was when I drank a lot of coffee in a short amount of time.
I would gag when I woke up in the morning and I'd take my pill. I would regurgitate when I'd eat an omelet and drink OJ for breakfast. Sometimes I'd regurgitate when eating dinner, someones after small portions. I mentioned this to my doctor and was told it would go away, but I hoped it'd be soon after diagnosis.
I stopped taking my pill and I don't gag or regurgitate as much, but it still happens occasionally. Is there anything I can do?
