Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Occasional Swallowing Difficulties After Taking Botox Injections?
I ve had blep for 10 years and treated with injections around eyes n nose with 2 syringes of Botox 4 x yrly. the last month or so I ve had occasional swallowing difficulty which I m sure is associated with blep. Is Botox an option and, if so, at what point? Gary Hendrickson age 70.
Botox injection is unlikely to the cause of difficulty in swallowing. Botox acts locally so it can affect the muscles of the esophagus. I suggest you to consult your gastroenterologist for clinical assessment and endoscopy if required to look for the cause of difficult swallowing.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
