Hello I m having serious anxiety because my 17 month old son has dry blood in his ears..He s not had them cleaned out this just came up without warning except for 100.5 fever off & on throughout the week a few times in which I called the doctor & they said to give ibuprofen and watch him. I m nervous! Can this be caused from a minor ear infection. Please help
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having on and off fever with dry blood in ears due to cold there is many a times infection and inflammation in ears due to connection between the back of nose and ears via ear tubes known as Eustachian tubes. It seems to be viral infection . The infection will however resolve once the virus will complete its cycle in human body. Hopefully the symptoms will resolve within a week and if it worsen consult a pediatrician and get evaluated. Doctor may prescribe anti viral along with anti inflammatory and anti allergic .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
