Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a hystoscopy and uterine biopsy done 10 days ago and now I have thrush/ white mouth. I wonder if this can be related? I also was diagnosed with Lupus two years ago but I am no longer on Plaquenil as my Lupus affected my scalp and is now dormant.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of oral thrush after hysteroscopy which seems to be due to poor immune system and due to course of medication after your procedure. need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain proper oral hygiene and take antifungal medications such as Nystatin suspensions. You should take anti thrush tablet such as Fluconazole. Visit oral pathologist once and get blood test done to check if you are deficient of iron, vitamin B12 or folate. Take diet rich in multivitamins. Brush and floss regularly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
