I had a Nissan fundiplocation seven months ago. The reason for the wrap was that the les did not close. I did have swallowing. I have a white coat on my tongue and the gastric reflex has returned. is this failure of the nissen fundoplication surgery
You have symptoms of oral thrush and acid reflux after a Nissen fundoplication which is a very common problem, due to the release of esophageal sphincter and excessive production of acid by the stomach. Need not to worry. I would suggest you take plenty of fluids. Avoid spicy and heavy meal especially at night. Maintain complete oral hygiene. Take oral Nystatin suspensions. Avoid taking outside food. Eat at least one hour before going to bed and take a light walk for 15-20 mins after every meal. You should take an antacid after every meal like gelusil. If symptoms keep on persisting visit ENT specialist once and start treatment after complete prescription.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
