What Causes Orangish Vaginal Discharge When On Catheter?
I can for my 100year old grandma. she is bedridden and has a catheter. I noticed there is tiny orange balls and whiteish round things(like onion rings) what is it? she had a uti and finished her antibiotics. The color of her pee is fine just worried about the stuff floating in it.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern for your Grandma. Long term use of catheter in a bed ridden subjects are prone for urinary and vaginal infection. What she could be facing is vaginitis, which would have not subsided with the use of antibiotics she has taken for urinary tract infection (UTI). She may require to be treated with a course of metronidazole or tinidazole. It is required to keep her parts under good hygiene and change catheter often so that it will prevent recurrence of infection. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
