As per your query outbreaks of hives and dry throat seems to be most probably due to severe allergic/anaphylactic reaction that can be due to causes like allergic reaction to any food, medication, poison ivy, surface allergens like soaps, detergent etc.. Do cool compresses.. Application of calamine lotion can help in soothing the skin..
