What Causes Outer Knee Pain While Standing And Straightening The Leg?

Hi my outer left knee started to hurt when I stand, straightening my knee and putting weight on it. The pain seems to lessens as I walk a bit. I did not have a fall or inquiry. My knee is not swollen. I am not sure if I should rest it, or ice it or walk more ??

Hello,

You have not mentioned your age. Knee pain after a certain age without any injury could be arthritis and is a common problem. Before taking self measurements, you should get the pain investigated because the ligaments may damage if you start using it without medical supervision.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. K. V. Anand, Psychologist
