Hi,
A ruptured ovarian is a fluid filled sac, that breaks open & causes symptoms of pain and bleeding etc. It may also cause
fever,
nausea etc. if there is presence of infection. Normally, many of the times, a
ruptured ovarian cyst does not require any specific treatment other than the OTC
analgesic.
However, in many a cases, in the presence of infection, there may be need of antibiotics. In a very few cases, the pain may be severe with presence of signs of
peritonitis etc. In such cases, hospitalization becomes a must & many a times surgical intervention is required.
Though, the presence of symptoms in ruptured ovarian cyst and urine infection may be similar and may be a cause of confusion for the diagnosis, many a times. Also, the symptoms may be similar, still, the ovarian cyst rupture does not directly cause a UTI. But there is always a possibility of developing a UTI as a secondary complication of ovarian cyst rupture.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
