What Causes Ovarian Cysts?

Hello, My question is about my 8.1 mm uterus since last year. I am 56 yo still had periods til a few months ago. I am going in for another sonogram, due to a cyst on my right ovary that was revealed in my last visit. They also told me I have acyst in the cervix but say it s normal with my overies being normal with follicular cysts bilaterally?? Am I still fertile? What does this mean?

Hi,

1) A simple ovarian cyst is caused due to the ovulation in the last cycle. This will go away by itself.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Soumya, OBGYN
