What Causes Overnight Bruise Marks On Chin And Cheeks?
Hello. My 3 year old son woke up this morning with a few round bruise-like marks under his chin, on his chin and one on his cheek. They're approximately 2 inches and appear to be pink in color with tiny red dots spread across and seem to be under the skin. It doesn't feel dry and he said it didn't hurt him. I called his doctor, however, they said it is probably eczema and to apply hydrocortisone cream on it. I personally don't think its eczema since it appears to be under the skin. What do you think this could this be?

I can understand your concern.
There could be several causes for bruise marks under the skin. It could be because of low platelet count. It could be because of vessel problems or blood clotting problems. but you should consult your doctor at the earliest for a complete physical examination. Your doctor may order certain investigations based on the physical examination findings. He may ask for platelet counts, Prothrombin time, APTT etc. Further management depends on the diagnosis made. So consult your doctor for a examination to identify the cause.

As you describe it appears to be the allergic reaction, to some thing or may be the due to the mosquito bite.
I advise you to consult a pediatritian for diagnosis and treatment.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms cifixime, citrizine, and steroid ointment .
The allergy may be due to foods, wool, clothes etc. If possible to find it try to avoid it .
