What Causes Pain Above The Rib Cage?

hi, i have had pinfull burst of pain in the top right part my rib cage near my shoulder. it huts to press on the area also to inhall in and out there is a pain but its quite a firey type pain. this has been going on for about 7 months. it affects my arm aswell.i tend to get bit pn and needels and it hurts aswell. i have been to the doctor but she said? it was just a inflamation on the ribs. does this sound normall?

I can understand your concern.
No, this is not normal because this pain is since 7 months.
Better to get done chest x ray to rule out internal pathology for such pain.
If chest x ray is normal then get done calcium and vitamin d 3 levels because deficiency of these can also cause similar kind of pain.
You may need supplements for faster recovery.
Avoid movements causing pain. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of chest.
Take simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
